1. The batteries can develop its main task, store daytime energy surpluses that will be consumed at times of lowest solar contribution, without any penalty or charge.
2. Batteries should only pay fixed power charge, when alternatively to its function as main or sometimes in addition, they perform the function of peak shaving, which reduces the installation of consumption power peaks, thus facilitating the reduction of the contracted power.
However this peak shaving function, reduces the useful battery capacity to take advantage of all the solar surplus, since it must be ensured that the battery is always charged enough to supply these peaks of power if necessary. Therefore and depending on the objective to pursue with my installation of autoconsumo, not always habilitaré this function of peak shaving.
